The similarity check for manuscripts submitted to EDEAd is conducted using Turnitin or iThenticate software. Authors are required to upload the similarity report file obtained from one of these programs to the submission system.
For manuscripts submitted to our journal:
The overall similarity index (excluding references) must not exceed 15%.
The similarity from any single source must not exceed 3%.
Manuscripts exceeding these limits will be returned to the authors without further review.
In addition, the corresponding author must upload a similarity declaration form, affirming that the submitted manuscript does not involve any form of plagiarism. This ensures that full responsibility for any instances of plagiarism rests solely with the authors.
EDEAd strictly adheres to the principles of the COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) Code of Conduct for Journal Editors and firmly rejects all forms of plagiarism and unethical conduct. Therefore, the COPE guidelines are fully implemented as part of our plagiarism and ethics policy.
If plagiarism or ethical misconduct is detected during the editorial process, the manuscript will be either rejected or returned to the author for revision, depending on the severity of the issue and under the author’s responsibility.
If plagiarism or ethical misconduct is discovered after publication, the authors will be asked to provide a formal defense. If the violation is confirmed after evaluation, the published article will be retracted.
The retraction process includes the following steps:
An official statement is issued by the journal.
A justification for the retraction is prepared by the Editor-in-Chief and Associate Editors.
The PDF file of the article is blocked on the website.
A retraction note, including the reason for the retraction, is permanently archived and attached to the article record in the system.
As EDEAd, we are committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics, ensuring transparency and integrity in academic publishing. These policies are crucial for maintaining the journal’s reputation and ensuring the continued trust of the academic community in the scholarly content we publish.
